Purpose, Membership & Chapters
Mission Statement
To foster good fellowship among the Mizeki Community and to develop Bernard Mizeki College into a top-class institution of learning.
PurposeWhy We Exist
The Association exists to maintain ties between Old Boys and the College through:
Events
Organising gatherings such as the golf tournament, a family day, a speakers' series, luncheons, dinners, a dinner dance, reunion day, and a sports day.
Communications
Keeping Old Boys and other members of the community informed about Association events, news, and other relevant information.
Advocacy
Engaging prospective Council members, building sponsor relationships, and promoting active membership within the Association.
Old Boys Trust Fund
Establishing and running a Trust Fund that opens doors for students from disadvantaged backgrounds in our community, giving them the same opportunities to learn and grow.
Infrastructure Projects
Carrying out infrastructural projects in and around the school for the benefit of the College, its students, and the wider community.
Who Can Join
Membership is open and automatic in spirit: anyone who has spent at least one academic year at Bernard Mizeki College is considered part of the Mizeki Community.
The Mizeki Community is broad and inclusive by design. Beyond former students, it extends to past and current parents, teachers and staff of the College, the Board of Governors, and any individual who demonstrates a genuine interest in the welfare of the school. Membership for this last group is confirmed by resolution of Council. If this is you, we'd love to hear from you; simply contact us to express your interest.
Per the Constitution:
- Each former student is a voting member, eligible for election to Council, provided subscriptions are paid up.
- Former parents and Board of Governors members may also join, provided they demonstrate a keen interest in furthering the development of the Association and the College.
- There are no membership dues, only an annual subscription fee set by Council each year.
- Paid-up members may attend and vote at Annual and Special General Meetings, hold office, receive Association publications, and are invited to all Association events.
